MSF-Vathauer Antriebstechnik and OWL Technical College were awarded the "Transferpreis OWL 2014"

We are manufacturers of mechanical, mechatronic and electronic drive traction systems, as well as decentralised drive automation systems.

"Transfer Prize OWL 2014" is awarded to MSF Vathauer and OWL Technical University. The "Transfer Prize OWL 2014" is awarded to Detmold's MSF-Vathauer Antriebstechnik GmbH & Co. KG and the lab for Power Electronics and Electrical Drive Systems of the Technical University East Westphalia-Lippe in Lemgo. They jointly developed the new and intelligent "Energy-Recovery-System" process. "The innovation of this system entails that the electrical energy recovered can be made available in a direct way without any intermediate storage", explained by the jury's spokesman Oliver Voßhenrich, Managing Director of POS Tuning GmbH & Co. KG from Bad Salzuflen, at the award ceremony at the Periscope GmbH in Paderborn. Very high efficiency rates of the electrical drive traction system can now be achieved by using this cutting-edge technology. The main area of application is in the segment of large integrated material handling facilities, such as parcel transport. The prize of 5,000 Euros awards exemplary cooperation projects between science and economics. It was offered by the Chamber of Trade and Industry (IHK) of East Westphalia at Bielefeld, as well as Chamber of Trade and Industry of Lippe at Detmold, the Chamber of Crafts East Westphalia-Lippe at Bielefeld, the occupational initiative OWL and the Foundation for security business settlement in the Lippe area.
"The prize has three main goals: it will boost the gearing of science and economics in the OWL region, it will strengthen new living resources from the Technical Universities and link junior staff members to the region", Voßhenrich emphasised. "The winning cooperation has best met these requirements." According to Thomas Niehoff, Managing Director of the IHK East Westphalia: "This has been a great achievement between science and economics and it is the key function in order to strengthen the driving force of innovation – especially against the backdrop of globalization. Companies can only secure their success and survival in the economy by introducing innovative products." According to the organisers of the event, 32 applications were received toward this year's Transfer Prize, out of which four were shortlisted and could be presented. Joint research and development projects, a commissioned research or suvey or just an intensive personnel exchange, can be regarded as prize-worthy undertakings, the organisers explained. The commercial relevance and the degree of innovation were the main criteria adopted for selecting the winners. The prize was awarded for the sixth time.
